If you follow me on Instagram, then you’ll know what this post is all about. If not, let me explain:

I interact with some amazing people on Instagram; one of them is Theodora from Theodora Ofosuhima and for the next 16 weeks, she’ll be hosting an Instagram meet and greet, so that we can all get to know each other better. I decided to bring the meet and greet to my blog, so that we can get to know each other better as well. I hope you’ll play along.

So the first prompt is to introduce ourselves, so here goes…

My name is Daenel {pronounced Day-nell}. I’ve asked my mom where the name came from and she said the “Dae” part is because we {there are two of me} were born at daybreak and the “nel” is to rhyme with the end of my sister’s name. If you’d like to read our birth story, here it is. I’ll tell you this much, it involves a high speed chase, police cars, and a birth in the backseat of a car.

Many years ago, a librarian friend of mine challenged us to come up with a quick bio for ourselves, this is mine:

Jesus lover.

I have the research skills of a librarian,

the preservation skills of an archivist,

the organizational skills of a soldier,

and the domestic skills of a Stepford wife.

I’m now a photography hobbyist and writer for a wonderful magazine for women called Her Clicks.

The Hubs and I have moved into a new phase of our lives, so I’m now having to learn how to be just a wife and not a mom and wife. Trust me, there’s a big difference. Fortunately, The Hubs and I dated and kept learning each other as the kids got older, so we haven’t gone through that weird “Who is this person and why is he/she always here?” phase. Because we both came to the marriage with kids and then had kids, this is the first time that we’ve ever been alone, so it feels like we’re doing the marriage thing backwards. I’m OK with that.

I guess that’s about it. If you want to know anything else, ask. Now it’s your turn, tell me something about yourself…

Cheers,

Daenel T {Living Outside the Stacks}
