Leopard and Lace {living outside the stacks}

I’m a lurker. I admit it. I know, I know, that’s awful. Bloggers should always support each other especially with comments and such but I usually don’t unless I have something important to contribute to the conversation. Again, bad blogger. Anyway, one of the blogs that I’ve been stalking for the last year or so is Eccentric Owl. I think Kristina is just the cutest thing ever. Seriously, how can you not love her vintage style? About a week ago I saw a post on her Instagram feed that had me coming out of the shadows… She and a couple of her friends had started a book club and were planning to read and review What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarity.

I’d heard of the book and promptly chimed in that I wanted to join their group. To which Kristina replied “Join us.” When I went to order the book, it turned out that it was totally different from the book that I’d been thinking about {bad librarian, I have no idea what the other book is and, honestly, I haven’t tried all that hard to remember}. Moriarity’s novel is so much more interesting than what I’d been thinking, so I’m still in. I can’t wait for it to arrive…

While I’m in the mood for trying new things, I decided to try something new with this lace dress. Usually when I wear it, I pair it with jeans and sandals because I’m total dress over jeans kinda girl. But it was hot out and I wanted to show a little leg…

Also those leopard print flats are way to cute to keep hidden.

The yellow polka dot headband was a last minute add on. I was trying to get my hair into some semblance of a bouffant {something like this} but I was having a hard time and had to leave for work. I’m definitely going to keep practicing though. Now that my hair has grown out a bit, I need to start figuring out what to do with it. You know, other than a center or side part.
