Another week and another hmmmm…
If I go by how my clothes are feeling, then I feel like I’ve lost something but if I go by the numbers on the scale, then I haven’t lost a dern thing. My jeans feel a bit loser… Or, at least, I have to wear a belt now unless I don’t mind doing the baggy pants shuffle. So not attractive. Anyway, I’m taking that as a sign that I may be on the right track.
So i went back and looked at last week’s post and I have lost weight! I lost 1 lb! Yay! And this is why it’s important to document your weight loss… This means that I’ve lost a total of 6.4 lbs. Not a lot considering I’ve been doing this for 3 months but I’ll take what I can get.
I’ve also been making an effort to log my meals and the one thing that’s stuck out is the surprising lack of green stuff in my diet. I thought that I was a healthy eater but when I see my food splayed out in a colored graph, I can see where I’m going wrong and what I need to do to correct the situation. Tonight I made a quick meal that wouldn’t usually call for veggies, but I made some anyway. And rather than stocking up on the other foods, I made sure more than half of my plate was green. According to this handy dandy fruits and vegetables calculator I should eat 1.5 cups of fruit and 2.5 cups of vegetables every day. I think that’s pretty doable, don’t you?
I’ve been using Noom to log my meals. I like it because it provides an analysis of each meal and tells you what you need to do differently to make your meals healthier. And it’s relatively easy to use ~ no scrolling for food portion size, you do a rough estimate based on known objects (thumb, hockey puck, etc.)
Do you eat the proper amount of fruits and veggies? How do you get them all in?
