Moving On {living outside the stacks}

For the past few days, I’ve been vague posting and deleting and starting again and deleting again because, until now, I haven’t had permission to share the news that I hinted at on Instagram a couple of days ago.

But The Hubs gave me the thumbs up, so here goes:

WE’RE MOVING TO LOUISIANA!!!!

As some of you know, The Hubs and I are the proud parents of 5 kids adults, 5.5 grandkids, and 5 grandpups. And for the last year or so, we’ve been trying to figure out how to get closer to them. Watching the grandbabies and grandpups grow up via Facebook and Instagram isn’t as fun as actually being there, ya know? Furthermore, we don’t want to be grandparents in name only, we want them to know us and we want to know them. The Hubs grew up without his paternal grandparents and I have only vague memories of my maternal and paternal grandparents, so we know how painful that can be. By the same token, we’ve also been blessed to watch the relationship that our kids have with my mother-in-law and, honestly, that’s what we want.

So we prayed. We asked. And got a “No, not at this time.”

My faith got shaky. The Hubs kept believing.

About 4 months later, The Hubs was told that his transfer to Louisiana was approved and we needed to hit the ground running. So we’ve been purging, fixing up, prepping, cleaning… all the things you do to relocate. So if you see me zoning out or if I’m not as attentive or active as I usually am, you now know why…

Beyond excited to be living our next adventure as Papa Tony and Yaya,
