Product Review: My Vacuum Cleaner Really Sucks

And that’s a good thing because my old one blew. Big time!

I have a husband, four children, a dog and two hamsters – that’s a lot of foot traffic bringing dirt into the house. Ok, the hamsters don’t really track dirt through the house but they sure make a mess with that saw dust. Anyway, I think my old vacuum cleaner just decided it had simply had enough of my family because when I plugged it in, it literally blew everything back into face. Seriously, big ol’ dust clouds flying through the air *coughchokecough*
Ugh! Vacuum shopping. I absolutely hate shopping for vacuum cleaners. I’m sort of a fashion over function type of person, so looking at something built strictly for function does not interest me. At all. So imagine my surprise when I walked into the store and found the eureka! Whirlwind Plus. The thing is soooo cute and girly – sparkly lime green and grey with yellow highlights. Furthermore, this thing is incredibly light. I easily carried it up and down two flights of stairs.

Assembly was as easy as 1 – 2 – 3. Really. Two screws and it was done. And once I plugged the vacuum in, it took off like a shot. The suction on it is incredible and it’s very easy to push. I used the upholstery accessory (which I’ve never used before) and was impressed by the amount of dust that was sucked out of my drapes (wish I had used the attachment before ’cause yuck!).

The eureka! Whirlwind Plus is a multi-surface cleaner that is ideal for cleaning the house from top to bottom. It’s equipped with HEPA filtration (nice, especially when you have allergy prone family members), a flip-bottom dust cup that disposes of dirt quickly and easily and an ergonimically correct handle that reduces wrist and hand strain.

The eureka! Whirlwind Plus can be purchased for roughly $95 and can only be found at Kmart.
