This morning I decided that I have had enough of this stopping and starting and stopping and starting, I need to finish this C25K program NOW. I’ve been trying to complete a week of running since 9 February. Everything seems to be conspiring against me ~ the weather, my health, etc. So I decided that I’ve got to do something different, I can’t keep starting over or I’ll never get out of the first week.
This morning, the weather was absolutely beautiful ~ a sunny 37 degrees and the track was clear so I turned on the BlackBerry and headed out for a run. It was so nice. I followed the walk~run~walk pattern, sucked in the fresh air and did my running chant Left~Left~Left~Right~Uh~Left. Yup, it’s cadence from my Army days. Now I haven’t been totally slacking during the cold weather, I’ve been going to the gym and working out with my EA Sports so I’m still in relatively good shape (if I don’t say so myself). Anyway, I decided that today would be the last day of Week 1.
Yup, you read it right. After stopping and starting, I’m just going to move on to Week 2 and see how it goes. I have to do something, my 5K is next month and I don’t want to collapse 20 seconds into the run, ya know? Anyway, I’ll let you know how it goes but for now, consider me a happy quitter.
