I walked outside and inside my house twice before I finally went for a run. I wanted to go but I didn’t feel like it. I didn’t know if I’d be able to do it. It had been at least 12 days since I’d hit the pavement.
Life got in the way.
I quit.
With the lack of running came the poor eating choices: a slice of pizza here, a value meal there, and the cookies, chips, ice cream, soda… It was a slippery slope that’s landed me back at my starting weight of 160 lbs. YIKES!
This added weight made my run a little more, ummm, strenuous. I felt winded and a little crampy. Not at all how I was feeling two weeks ago. I don’t like this feeling.
If I hadn’t quit, I wouldn’t be starting over. I wouldn’t be trying to find my groove again. So my tip for this week is this:
DON’T QUIT!
No matter what you’re doing, don’t quit. Keep going. Remember why you started and just keep going until you finish.
If you’d like to follow my training and cheer me on, I’ll be posting here, on Facebook, and on Instagram. I’m also on dailymile.
What have you started that you don’t want to quit?
