What I Wore Sunday
I’ve spent the last few days looking at some of my favorite clothes to see how I can transition them for fall/winter. Here in Missouri, we’re still battling high 80 and low 90 degree weather but I’m trying to bring in fall. Even if I have to do it all by myself.
The hubs talked me into buying this dress. I wasn’t sure about it because of the deep V in the front. I’ve seen other women wear maxi dresses very similar to this without a layering piece and they still look modest, I tried but I just couldn’t pull it off. And, since I was going to church, I figured, hey, better keep the girls under wraps… So I added a lace cami and a denim jacket and felt muuuuch better.
For fall and winter, I think I can add a cute scarf to fill in the neckline and it’ll be perfect. I may even swap out the denim jacket for a chunky sweater in a corresponding color. Or maybe even that cool faux fur vest that I have hanging in my closet… What d’you think?
The hi~lo hem also made me pause. I haven’t worn a hi~lo hem in forever. I think since I was in my mid~twenties… But I kinda liked it once I got it on. The hem kinda brings the attention to the shoes, ya know? So now I’m thinking some funky boots for fall/winter and it’ll be all good.
Are you preparing your wardrobe for fall and winter? What are you most looking forward to wearing?
