What I Wore Monday

Earlier this week, my friend Keisa, leanlibrarian on Instagram, challenged me to ditch my sweats and flip flops in favor of actual clothing, to include makeup and combed hair. Even on days when I don’t plan to leave the house. You may think, oh that’s not so difficult but it is… I’m one of those girls who only does the hair and makeup thing if I’m leaving the house. Otherwise, it’s sweats, oversized tee, flip flops and what the hubs ~~affectionately~~ calls a “nub” but I call a “messy bun”. He really has issues with just about any hairstyle that requires a hair tie. When I’m in the mood to get him going, it’s really kinda funny to see how many pony tails I can create to provoke…

Anyway, Keisa and I have been holding each other accountable on Instagram, using the hashtags #nomorefrump and #nomorefrumpymom, if you’d like to join us, we’d love to have you. It really is a lot of fun sharing ideas, encouraging each other and just talking about how to mix and match different things.

As you can tell, my style is somewhat eclectic. I’m almost certain it’s a result of growing up overseas. I also firmly believe that things do not have to match, they just have to go together. Hmmmm….what is up with my weird expression? Maybe it had something to do with my photographer?

What I Wore Tuesday

On Tuesday I stepped way out of my comfort zone and wore a denim shirt that’s been hanging in my closet since the beginning of summer.

It was on sale and I’d seen a ton of cute denim shirts on Pinterest and thought I could pull it off but when the time came I chickened out. But this week, I decided to throw caution to the wind and the shirt a try.

I think I pulled it off. I also tucked my shirt in. gasp And wore a belt. double gasp My waist isn’t quite what I want it to be so I try not to emphasize it too much but, again, I think I pulled it off.
