Casual Saturday {In the Closet}

Every Saturday morning the hubs and I go out to breakfast. It’s our time to get away from kids, the bills, and the stress. A little time that we carve out for just the two of us. We sit, we talk, we drink coffee {naturally}… It’s the thing I most look forward to at the end of each week.

Usually when the hubs and I go out I wear a skirt or a dress. The hubs prefers me that way, but this particular Saturday I was so not feeling the girly thing. So I layered my tops, threw on a hat, and called it a day.

I felt comfy but a little unlike myself. I think if I were to try this look again I’d wear a belt. Because everything is so straight, I need something to define my waist. I always seem to forget that. But, gosh, it is the details that count, isn’t it?

    I like. Wish i had the height!!

    • I’m really not as tall as you think. Or as tall as I thought I was until I moved out of the house. LOL

  • I like the layered look. It looks comfy just like you were shooting for. šŸ™‚ I think my tops complete my look but sometimes it’s the shoes. You gotta love the shoes.

    • Oh, yeah, the shoes! You are so right, they can make or break an outfit for sure.

  • I love those boots! I am looking forward to the time when our daughter is old enough to be home alone so we can do the same thing! (Not that I’m excited about her getting older – their childhood goes by way too fast.) It’s just gonna be nice to have dates again!

    • Thank you. I do love the boots, I can wear them with skirts, jeans, dresses…

      Having the kids older is both sad and, well, nice. I miss them being little and discovering new things but I do enjoy being able to just go without having to pack a bag or worry about a sitter.

    i think now my outfit is not complete without my set of wedding bands … i feel naked without them! love how you layered up this tomboy look … and the boots make you look like one tough chic! x

    • A few years back I lost the stone in my ring, omg, I cried for days while it was getting repaired. I just felt like part of me was missing. The hubs thought I was overreacting… Until he thought he lost his band. He didn’t cry {I don’t think} but he was upset.
