Week 3: Out and About

Nikon D7500 | 35mm | f/3.5 | 1/125 | ISO 320

2018 saw the introduction of a new 52 week photography project, which has me totally excited. This year I want to really step out creatively and learn/practice new skills. I’d also really like to do more than just make photos of my morning coffee, although I do enjoy that. If you’d like to join in, I’m using the prompts from Definitely Dreaming. Anyway, I thought I’d let these posts do a sort of double duty, if you will. I’ll share my weekly photo and a few highlights from the week.

So here goes…

  1. It snowed on Wednesday, so I got a snow day. It wasn’t a lot but I won’t complain because day off. At my last place of work, I still had to go in even if the rest of campus was closed so, yeah, I’m loving the policy here.
  2. My new glasses arrived from Firmoo. I’m so excited. They’re funky and totally outside of my usual style, which is what I wanted. I’m trying to experiment and play around with different looks, especially since the glasses are inexpensive. I’ll have a review for you next week, I want a chance to wear them for a week and see how it goes.
  3. The Hubs and I started working on a list of things we want to do in the coming year. I used to make fun of his lists until he showed me last year’s list and all the stuff that we’d crossed off. You guys, of the 15  things on the list, only 1 was undone. And, hopefully, we’ll get that one crossed off soon.

What made you happy last week? Share in the comments.

Have a good week,

Daenel T {Living Outside the Stacks}

  • You know I appreciate a good list. Look at you guys with your hub’s list of to-dos. Way to show those projects who’s boss.
    Followed your link to the photo project and almost signed up. But I am already committed with half a heart to 52Frames. In waaaaay over my amateur photographer’s head but maybe some of the talent there will rub off on me.

    • It’s so funny, Leslie, because I honestly hadn’t realized how much stuff we’d accomplished until he showed me the list with all of the stuff marked off. In my mind, we were just doing things. LOL

      I’ve learned to take the photo projects one week at a time. At the beginning of the year, I see so many that look interesting and then I get overwhelmed and quit. Rather than commit to one project for the whole year, I’ve decided to do a mix of projects from different challenges. Honestly, it was the challenges that helped me to strengthen my photography skills. I’m still not where I want to be, but I can see the improvement from when I first started.
