Ageless Style Linkup: Off the Shoulder

THE AGELESS STYLE LINKUP

Ten ladies, forty and over, show you that style doesn’t have an age limit. A themed linkup takes place on the first Tuesday of every month.

This month’s theme is: Off the Shoulder and was chosen by Diane from Fashion on the 4th Floor. I know I’ve said this before but this look is definitely out of my comfort zone. I have incredibly bad posture {I’ve tried everything to correct it, if you have tips, leave them in the comments, please} so I tend to shy away from anything that emphasizes my neck and shoulder lines. In fact, my posture is one of the reasons that I started wearing scarves {I hoped that it would fill in the gap and disguise my slouch/hump}. Anyway, I wasn’t going to participate in this month’s theme but then I thought about something that I said to my mother this past week:

Photos are not about perfection, they’re about capturing memories. In this case, it’s about capturing a moment in time and getting the opportunity to play a game that I looooooved as a child: dress up. So, I dressed up, grabbed my camera, and had some fun.

MY LOOK

Tunic ~ Suzanne Summers {Dollar General} | Denim Shorts ~ Walmart

Necklace ~ Old {pieced together from 3 different necklaces | Gold Hoops ~ QVC

I paired this off the shoulder top with a pair of denim shorts and black wedges for a fun look. The tee is a very lightweight material, almost a tissue paper weight, but the collar makes it appropriate for cooler temps as well. The shorts are a pair that The Hubs picked out during one of our “let’s run into Walmart to grab some more camping gear” trips.
