Seventeen Years Ago Today… {Repost for the Birthday of Twin A and Twin B}
I gave birth to Twin A and Twin B, also known as Jazmine and Brandon. But, really, their story begins nine days earlier….. On 11 September 1995, the hubs and I showed up at the hospital for a routine OB visit. The baby was due in nine days and, almost overnight it seemed, I had put on about 15 or 20 lbs and my pregnancy gait had shifted into full on waddle. Furthermore, the baby was bouncing all over the place. Don’t babies normally slow down the closer you get to the due date? Anyway, the hubs and the two~year~old sat in the waiting room while the doctor pulled out…

Squeekerz {Missing Dog Alert}
This has been a very difficult week for my family and me. Last Friday morning, our beloved dog of 10 years, Squeekerz, decided to go for a walk without his leash or his humans. Those of you who are long time readers know that Squeekerz has become quite a fixture in my photography. He’s a first class photo bomber! And often likes to pose for pictures (this after spending many months getting over his fear of the camera sounds). I’ve never been a big proponent of pet chipping, honestly, the thought of putting something inside my dog sort made me feel all Big Brotherish… But after this past week, I…

Just Chillin’ {About Me}
Hope you’re all having a good Tuesday. I’m doing well, just kicking back and relaxing… I have some errands to run but I totally don’t feel like leaving the house. Have you ever had a day like that? You know, you have stuff to do but you just don’t feel like doing it… So, instead, I’m sitting here editing pictures and trying to build up the oomph to leave the house.

Officially Natural {Natural Hair}
The transition journey came to an end late Wednesday night. I couldn’t take it any more, so I grabbed the scissors and cut off the last few ends of straggly relaxed hair. Transitioning Over the course of the last year, my hair has gone from straight to curly and a little bit of everything in between. It hasn’t been an easy journey. Goodness knows there’ve been times when I’ve wanted to cry, grab the scissors and chop or return to the creamy crack. My New Hair This is my hair in all of its curly glory. So now begins the process of letting it grow out and learning which products…

Bad Hair Day + Cute Shoes = Balance?
Today was one of them days. I had an appointment with the endocrinologist ~ stupid nonexistent thyroid is making me crazy again. After talking to the doctor, we’ve decided the best course of action is to lower my meds and try to get my thyroid levels under control. But you know what was bothering me more than my thyroid {or lack there of} this morning? My hair. Yes, y’all, I was having the mother of bad hair days today. I couldn’t even focus on the doctor’s questions because I was thinking about the crazy mop that was sitting on my head. I tried a new hair product and was less…

A Visit to the Art Gallery and Museum {Getting to Know Missouri}
Yesterday, Miss 18 called me up and asked if I wanted to hang out. Immediately my spidey senses started tingling. Parents, you know how it is when your teenage kid calls you up out of the blue and asks if you want to hang out, your first thought is how much is it gonna cost me? So I asked all the important questions and deduced that she needed a ride to the Art Gallery to complete an assignment for her class. I keep trying to tell her, this is more than just a pretty face… After getting lost, we arrived at the gallery and were immediately rewarded with the scent…

Google Friend Connect is disappearing soon, but I’d love for us to stay together. You can read my blog in your favorite reader through my RSS feed, join the conversation on Facebook or chat with me on Twitter. Make sure you give a shout out and let me know you’re there! So I said all of that to say, I’ve discovered a new meme (and a new blog) that I want…

My Doctor Quit After Diagnosing Me with Cancer #NaBloPoMo
Has anything traumatic ever happened to you? Describe the scenes surrounding a particular event. ~ Adrienne McDonnell {Guest Prompt} I took the registered letter from the mailman and opened the envelope, a sheet of neatly folded paper slipped to the floor. I picked it up and unfolded it: “Dear Mrs. Tucker, This letter is to inform you that you have 30 days to find a new Primary Care Physician. I will no longer be your doctor for the following reasons: You were verbally abusive towards my staff You chose not to follow the recommendations of specialists that I referred you to You did not like the way that I, as…

Loose Threads and Random Thoughts
Do you like taking pictures? I’m not talking about just snapping pictures of your kids while they’re little so you can remember how sweet they used to be once they become teens? I mean, do you carry your camera everywhere you go? I do. I love snapping pictures and playing with the various editing tools. I’ve even joined a couple of photography challenges. This fall I’ll be joining up with Kristi and her crew for the Shades of Autumn Photo Challenge. For more information, go here. If you decide to join up, let me know in the comments.
