I have often said that the best gift The Hubs has ever given me is my Nikon D3100 and that includes the children. I honestly never knew how much I enjoyed being behind the camera until he said “Here, have fun.” I’d been taking pictures with my cell phone and then with a GE Power Pro X500 {a bridge camera} but I was ready to move to the next level, I just wasn’t ready to pay that price. So he paid it for me… *swoon*

Week 7 Love {Living Outside the Stacks} #OurProject52

Along with photography, I have a love for all things old vintage. I think that’s part of the reason why I enjoyed teaching American history so much, I enjoyed sharing the stories behind the people and the events. For most people, history is just a bunch of dates and old dead guys. For me, it’s a story that was created by people, shaped by events, and enhanced by things.

And one of those things that helped shaped the global story is the camera. Think of the pictures this camera has taken — weddings, births, deaths, every day life… In this box is history.

Week 7 Love {Living Outside the Stacks} #OurProject52

Love is The Hubs going to my favorite antique store and buying this vintage camera for me because he knew I’d love it. I cannot wait to find the perfect spot for it in our new home.
