The sound of the leaves crackling, the feel of rain drops splattering against our faces, loud laughter and easy conversation… this has been a good week for me. Miss 18 is home for Fall Break. Fall Break! Can you believe she’s been in school long enough for a Fall Break? Anyway, she and I have been enjoying some mother~daughter time and I have to say, it’s such a treat to realize that the young lady that I raised has now become my friend.

But this is a shoe post and not a daughter post…

Shoe Style Saturday

These are my clogs, I don’t wear them nearly enough.  I’m not really certain why. They’re comfortable and just scream Autumn when worn with jeans and tunics. I bought them because I fell in love with their vintage look and feel ~ the heels are real wood and the upper is genuine leather. They’re worn and scuffed almost as if I’d taken them off of some peace lovin’ hippie’s feet.

Yesterday I wore them while hanging out with Miss 18. On a whim, we decided to stop at the Conservation Center to see what was inside ~ there were all sorts of recreated habitats, stuffed animals that are native to the area (even a bear that made me scream), along with lots of information about the area.  Miss 18 and I even decided to take a walk along a path behind the Conservation Center to take pictures (you can view them by clicking here and here).
