About Me

Jesus girl. Coffee drinker. Photo taker. I have the research skills of a librarian, the preservation skills of an archivist, the organizational skills of a soldier, and domestic skills of a Stepford wife.

Over twenty years ago, I was diagnosed with Thyroi Over twenty years ago, I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer with secondary issues including breast disease.

🖤

Today, on #WorldCancerDay, I want to acknowledge the people who helped me:

🖤

My oncologist who was so skilled you can barely see my scar. My breast surgeon who offered to preserve my tattoo if my breast had to be removed.

🖤

My professors at Misericordia University who offered unconditional support, flexibility, and encouragement.

🖤

My mother-in-law who told my kids that I was going to glow in the dark because of my radiation therapy {we even put on a little show}.

🖤

My kids who wondered why I didn’t bring my “fryroid” home with me.

🖤

My little sister who - while deployed - went to get her hair cut to make a human hair wig for me.

🖤

And The Hubs who drove me to and from appointments, bought me the most delicious Philly Steak sandwiches, and encouraged me to finish my degree.

🖤

No one gets through life alone. Celebrate your crew and love them deeply.
