Hi, this is just a short post to introduce next week’s Style Imitating Art inspiration piece.

“Papauer I ‘Morpheus’ [Memorial Day Poppy]”
Jen curated this week’s selection in honor of Memorial Day, an American holiday that celebrates those who died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. After World War II the National American Legion adopted the poppy as their official symbol of remembrance.
Jen notes the 18th century illustration is “simple yet bold…” I agree, the colors and lines are striking in their simplicity.
