INSPIRATION ART WORK
“Papauer I ‘Morpheus’ [Memorial Day Poppy]”
Jen curated this week’s selection in honor of Memorial Day, an American holiday that celebrates those who died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. After World War II the National American Legion adopted the poppy as their official symbol of remembrance.
Jen notes the 18th century illustration is “simple yet bold…” I agree, the colors and lines are striking in their simplicity.
You can read more about it here.
Everyone’s invited to participate! Send a picture of your Style Imitating Art inspired outfit to Jen at firstname.lastname@example.org by Tuesday, 5 June. Jen will share the submissions on her blog, Librarian for Life & Style on Wednesday, 6 June. You don’t have to be a blogger, a photographer, or an instagrammer to join! You just have to love clothes.
Hope you’ll join the fun!
