MY LOOK

Y’all, this week has been a doozy. I participated in my first Dragon Boat Race on Saturday and my arms and sides are still sore. I told everyone on Instagram that I’d share a post about the event and – I promise – I will. I think I’ll do a little video, since I need to practice my video editing skills. So stay tuned for that…

Up until a few years ago, my favorite accessory was a pair of gold hoop earrings. I wore them with everything and then I saw a pair of Nickel and Suede Leather Earring on Instagram and was like “Yes, please!” I just totally fell for them because they’re so funky and versatile. I mean, they can go either boho or edgy, depending upon the color and the texture. So far, I have about 9 pairs. I generally buy the earring of the month because it’s a little bit cheaper at $18 versus the regular price of $22.

Recently, I was asked if I’d ever wear leather leggings to work. My answer was a resounding yes! Because I have. In fact, I wore this very outfit. During the day, I kept the blazer on, but for running errands after work, I went without…

I’ve wanted a pair of faux leather leggings for-ever. But I didn’t want a pair that looked chintzy. I mean, I’m a big girl, so I had to make sure whatever pair I bought had some heft to them. So after 2 YEARS of hemming and hawing, I finally bit the bullet and bought a pair of Spanx faux leather leggings. Yes, they’re expensive, but they are so worth it. I was worried about them showing “stuff” or thinning at the seams, but there is none of that. And I feel like they can be worn as leggings or as tights under skirts/dresses.

Don’t you just love Jo-Lynn’s sunglasses? I’m not gonna lie, I’m envious of anyone who can wear sunnies. I can no longer wear my contacts. Dry eyes. Boo. Hiss. Hiss. So I’m stuck wearing glasses with those stupid tinted lenses. That being said, I do spend a lot of money on eyeglasses that y’all don’t see because I almost never take pictures wearing them… Anyway, back to Jo-Lynn.
