As the blogger and photographer behind Living Outside the Stacks, I independently select and write about stuff I love and things I think you’ll enjoy too. Living Outside the Stacks has affiliate and advertising partnerships so I get revenue from sharing this content and from your purchase. Thank you for your support.

I know, it’s been a minute… So much has happened, let’s see, my youngest daughter graduated with her Master of Arts degree in Communication from Valdosta State University, last week’s episode of This Is Us just about broke me. Did you see it? It was the episode about Miguel. Y’all, I just wanna start the whole series over and give him his due. He really was the unsung hero of the series. I’m not ready for the series to end, but I’m ready for it to end. Does that make sense?

WISH ADA A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY

This is a special post. I was invited to attend a virtual birthday party for Ada from Elegance and Mommyhood! If you get a chance, I’d love it if you’d swing by her blog and wish her a whole lot of happiness.

MY OUTFIT

I had to work, so I decided to find something that would make an easy transition from day to evening. And, as much as I fight formal wear, I’ve learned that if you throw a blazer over an outfit, it makes just about anything look a little more work ready. My job is pretty casual, but there are times when I do have to bump things up a notch.

If you follow me on Instagram, then you know I’m a big fan of clothes by Kantha Bae. I love that each one-of-a-kind piece is sustainably sourced from vintage saris and sewn by families in Bangladesh and India. If you’d like to purchase a Kantha Bae piece, you can save $5 by using my code: Daenel. Just remember that I’ll earn a commission off any purchases made using my code, at no extra charge to you.

WHERE I WORE IT

I wo the blazered version of my outfit to work and removed the blazer for a virtual birthday party. Either way, my outfit is unique and reflects who I am.
