Coffee Talk {living outside the stacks}

I’d like to welcome you to Coffee Talk. If you’re new here, this is where I share some of the great and not~so~great stuff that I find on the web. Topics range from news stories that leave me scratchin’ my head to DIYs that I think are absolutely clever. And, who knows, there may even be a recipe thrown in here or there just for fun.

How are you doing? We’re doing well over here. Just working and living. You know, a lot of the same ol’ same but I’m not complaining. I said that I wanted some time when nothing happened. Nothing good. Nothing bad. Just life.

The Hubs and I had a fairly quiet weekend. We took a drive to Cordele to look around. We discovered that they have a lot of trains. We got stuck at two different tracks within a span of 20 minutes. It was OK though because it allowed me to capture this  and the photo below while we waited.

I love reading the graffiti on trains. I always wonder about the people who create it: where are they? why they’d do it? do they wonder if anyone reads their tags? I think it’s a carryover from watching Beat Street when I was a kid. I had such a crush on Ramo, who was a graffiti artist in the movie. When his character died, I think I actually crumpled to the floor. Side note: I, the woman who hates birds, actually had two parakeets; one was named Ramo and the other was Tweety.

You guys, I just want to alternately fist bump and hug Tamron Hall. She left her position with NBC after it was announced that a time slot that she shares with Al Roker would be taken over by Megyn Kelly {she of FOX News fame}. My understanding, from news reporters was that Tamron Hall and Al Roker were keeping their slots and that they were trying to find a place for Megyn, then it was announced that she was taking their time slot. Y’all, I don’t know how familiar you are with Tamron Hall, but she is funny and fierce. Replacing her with Megyn Kelly is deserving of multiple side eyes. NBC has a history of treating it’s female anchors questionably and, in this case, there are all sorts of questions being raised by them replacing Hall and Roker with Kelly. I’m happy that Tamron Hall opted to leave the network. I know she won’t fade into the background.

Are you watching the Super Bowl? I’m not. I’m so not a football fan. But, maaaaan, do I love the commercials. That being said, I don’t think I’m even gonna watch those today.

I guess that’s about it…

Talk to me, what’s going on in your world?

Cheers,

Daenel T {Living Outside the Stacks}
