Black Polka Dot Sweater and Faux Leather Midi Skirt {living outside the stacks}

Have you ever seen something and thought that’s not quite my style but I love it? That was me with both the lipstick and the faux leather midi skirt. For about three months I let both of them dance around in my head: they did the Tango, the Cha Cha, a couple of steps from the Electric Slide, and then they dipped and I was like “come to Momma.”

The lipstick is actually a lip pencil that I found at Sally Beauty Supply. It’s called Blackberry by Beautique. And it’s the perfect shade of burgundy. I absolutely adore it and, apparently so do a lot of other ladies, because I kept getting asked about it.

I found the skirt on Evine Live. I was looking for a faux leather skirt that wouldn’t break the bank but looked real.  And this one was perfect. So perfect, in fact, that I’m going back for the gray version. The fit is both fun and flirty. And I like the just above the knee length.

I wore it with a statement necklace and polka dot sweater {which I’ve worn before here} for church, but I can see it with a graphic tee and a pair of ballet flats for running errands. And, before I forget, the tights are by Kushy Foot and were part of a prize pack that I won from Pastries, Pumps and Pi. Thank you so much! I love the fit and the support {control top, y’all} with the little foot massagers on the soles. I don’t wear heels very often anymore, so I definitely needed that extra comfort.

What was the last thing you wore that was out of your comfort zone?
