You guys, this may be the busiest weekend I’ve had in a long time. The Hubs and I spent the weekend house hunting online. I’m so ready to go to Albany and begin the “real” house search. I can’t believe how many people don’t realize how important the online photos of their homes are…
<rant>Instagram filters, piles of laundry, and blurry photos are a big ol’ NO when you’re trying to sell your home. And if you’re going to put a video on Youtube, it should be an actual video tour of your home and not just a slide show of the pictures from the realtor’s website.</rant>
Between virtual house hunting and bill paying bo-ring we made some time to go downtown to hang out and see the sights. So, in the spirit of full disclosure, these pictures were all taken over the course of two days. Except for the coffee picture, which was taken on Friday.
Day 7 Happy Husband
There are so many things to unpack here:
- Dan the Cat, Guardian of Annie Laurie’s Antiques ~ everyone says this cat doesn’t like anyone, the whole time we were in the store he was stalking me, at one point he even walked over and rubbed himself up against my legs
- The chair that Dan is occupying is now in our home office, one of a matching set
- For years, The Hubs has wanted a cedar chest… Just as we were leaving the store, he spotted this one under some blankets, it’s now safely settled in our home
Day 6 A Sweet Gift
While we were at Sloan + Themis, The Hubs bought a bracelet and matching earrings {not shown} for me. Such a sweet surprise.
Day 5 Christmas Carolers
Christmas carolers dressed in historic clothing were singing in the historic district… Obvs, these two weren’t singing but I thought they made an interesting/lovely couple.
Day 4 Living Mannequins
These “living mannequins” were in the window at Pastime Antiques; beautiful, aren’t they?
Day 3 Sloan + Themis
While we were out, The Hubs and I went to visit the lovely Ms. Claire at Sloan + Themis. She’s redecorated the shop since the last time I visited her. I absolutely adore it. And, ummm, that mannequin is only making me want one even more.
Day 2 Date Night
We went to “our spot” AKA The Mississippi River. This really is a beautiful place, so peaceful and a little bit mysterious. Seriously, can’t you just imagine Robert Stack doing the opening sequence to “Unsolved Mysteries” right now?
Day 1 Squeekerz
This was a rough weekend for the little guy. He spent most of it not feeling well, so I babied him and let him sleep on my lap. As you can tell, he’s still quite the character even when he’s sick.
Favorite Coffee Picture
You know what I found out this week? That coffee is delicious even when you’ve run out of creamer…
