Week 12 Photographers Choice Ukelele {Living Outside the Stacks} #OurProject52

This week’s theme is “Photographer’s Choice”, so I’m sharing a few of my favorite pictures and the stories behind them. The photo above is of my youngest daughter; she taught herself to play the ukelele. I’m so impressed and proud of her – she’s so incredibly talented. I love listening to her play.

Paraglider with Motor {Living Outside the Stacks} #OurProject52

And from the “you should always have your camera on you file”… I was driving home from work and saw someone paragliding over a field. So I pulled over, pulled out my camera, and started taking pictures. Because I live off a back road, I had to make it quick, so there wasn’t a lot of time to play with my settings. Lemme tell ya, that’s when the histogram really comes in handy. My only regret is that I didn’t switch to my zoom lens.

Week 12 Photographers Choice Portrait {Living Outside the Stacks} #OurProject52

My daughter. I love taking pictures of her because she indulges me and isn’t afraid to work it. Check her out here, here, and here. What you can’t see {and what I’ll always remember} is how hard we were laughing just before I took this picture. I don’t even know what we were laughing at, but I do know I almost didn’t get the shot because my hands were shaking and my eyes were tearing up.

All of these were taken using my Nikon D3100.

Happy Clicking,
