ABOUT STYLE IMITATING ART
Style Imitating Art is hosted by Salazar {14 Shades of Gray}, Kim {Fierce Fashion Blog}, and me. Style Imitating Art challenges us to draw style inspiration from pieces of art. Every other Monday one of us selects an inspiration image and we each post the image on our blogs. The following Monday we share our art inspired outfit. My main tip for participating is not to just look at the colors but look at the textures, think about complimentary colors, etc. In other words, you don’t have to be literal in your interpretation. It’s all about looking at the items in your closet in new and creative ways — mixing colors and patterns and just having fun.

This week’s image is curated by Salazar {14 Shades of Gray}. Salazar is “…a stagnating packet of crisps {context} trying to change by adding more colors to my wardrobe and my life.”

Salazar chose this image because she wanted “…something summery, and since I’ve been painting a lot of watercolors lately, it’s great to find an old watercolor painting that still retains its soft but bright colors.”
I see shades of blue, grey, taupe, rust, green, and yellow. There are even hints of purple and black. So much room for interpretation, don’t you think?
