ABOUT STYLE IMITATING ART
Style Imitating Art is hosted by Salazar {14 Shades of Grey}, Kim {Fierce Fashion Blog}, and me. Style Imitating Art challenges us to draw style inspiration from pieces of art. Every other Monday one of us selects an inspiration image and we each post the image on our blogs. The following Monday we share our art inspired outfits. I chose these boudoir slippers because the color is just intense and fabulous. I know it’s just a single color, but there’s the opportunity for mixing, matching, clashing, texture imitation, etc.

I think they both look fabulous in purple. And if that’s how one dresses in an Arizona winter, I’ll take it!

Leslie wrote “… to tell in this collage but I am wearing a black sweater that has purple flowers embroidered on a mesh overlay. Thought the embroidery could kind of reflect the quilted stitching on the shoes.”
Like I told Leslie in my email: I love that cardi! Y’all know I’m all about the embroidery and this one just makes me swoon.
Michelle {my bijou life online}
Michelle looks like royalty in her purple and gold! And don’t you just love the OTK boots? I’m really thinking I need a pair this season.
Nancy {nancy’s fashion style}
Nancy wrote that she “…never wear purple and black together, so this is a unique outfit for me. I do always wear gold!”
Nancy’s outfit is so edgy. I know I keep focusing on the footwear, but look. at. those. boots.
Terri {meadow tree style}
Terri wrote that she had “an older look that I thought would work but revamped the post to make it relevant to your sippers.”
Terri’s animal print with the purple pushed this outfit up a notch for me. I’ve never considered those two as a combo, but it works. Love it.

How pretty is the trail of flowers in Salazar’s dress? It’s so feminine and pretty and with the addition of the shoes, just a little bit punky. Love love love.
Kim {Fierce Fashion Blog}
Like I told Kim, I love love love this color combination. It’s so funky, don’t you think? Kim “…went with burgundy as “my” purple and added the pants because of the gold lining. I thought the embroidery stitching was a nice nod to the quilting.” And, seriously, the embroidery is giving me heart palpitations.
