Shoe Style Saturday
I didn’t really do much this week, between the chilly weather and being a bit lethargic, I just haven’t gotten out much. Last night, we went to church {the second night of our men’s conference} and I wore the shoes above. I’ve had them for at least 3 or 4 years, an impulse buy while visiting my sister in Tennessee. I think I’ve worn them 2 or 3 times. I’m never really sure what to wear them with, do you have any ideas? Where did your shoes take you this week? To participate in Shoe Style Saturday, all you have to do is take a picture of your shoes post…

Shoe Style Saturday
I thought boot wearing weather had come to an end. Does boot wearing weather every really come to an end though? It’s bordered on freezing here. OK, slight exaggeration but after the near 80s we were having, the 50s and 60s feels kinda frigid. Has the weather done a sudden flip where you are too? Even with the cool weather, I did get out and do a bit of wandering around the area with my camera in tow. The Mississippi Riverfront is one of my fave places to go when I wanna just people watch or take some pictures of different architectural settings. Have I told you how much I…

Happy Thanksgiving!
This year, I’m thankful for so much ~ I’m thankful for a God who has shown me love and mercy through it all. I’m thankful for my family who has been through so many changes this year but has grown closer and more loving. I’m thankful for new friends who’ve helped me to step out of my comfort zone and embrace new things. And I’m thankful for you, my readers, you’ve laughed and cried with me over the past year and offered words of encouragement when I needed it. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! Women of Faith Wednesday: It’s All in My Bag
Today’s Women of Faith Wednesday question is: “What’s in Your Purse and Why?” I’m embarrassed to answer that question. Hahaha Usually I carry bags big enough to tote a toddler. Tonight I happened to have switched to my “small” bag. Women always say they can’t switch bags because they always forget something in the original bag. Now there’s an art to switching bags (I’ll get to the what’s inside in just a minute)… If you follow my directions, you can switch bags every day and never forget anything again! Here’s the trick ~ you know all those little cosmetic cases you get when you purchase a bag? You use those…

Women of Faith Wednesday: Girl, You are Loved
Today’s Women of Faith Wednesday question is “If you could go back in time and tell your teenage self one thing, what would you say?” Hmmm….there are so many things that my teenaged self needed to hear. Psalms 37:4 (NIV) says: “Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Had I found the truth of that verse, I would have saved myself so much heartbreak and rejection. The biggest desire of my teenaged heart was to be truly and completely loved and valued. Not the boyfriend~girlfriend kind of love but that love that comes from having a family that instills in you a sense of…

Women of Faith Wednesday: Miracles and Monkeys
Today’s Women of Faith Wednesday question is “Have you experienced any miracles in your life?” Ummm, does the fact that I’m actually writing this post on a Wednesday count? Seriously, I would have to say that my entire life has been a series of miracles. My twin sister and I were born just after my mother was in a car accident. My father was racing her to the hospital in the early morning hours when the police decided to stop my father for speeding by parking the police cruiser directly in front of the car. Because of the positioning of the police car, my father had to choose between…
