Columbus City SignWe’ve been spending the week with the parentals in Mississippi, which has been a lot of fun. We arrived on Wednesday and immediately slipped into a state of relaxation ~ like the hubs says, sometimes you really need to just get away from your life…

So this morning, he asked if I’d like to take a driving tour of the historic part of town since neither of us had ever been down that way. Of course, the history geek in me quickly agreed.

We drove through the city and came upon so many beautiful buildings ~ my dream is to one day live in one of those beautiful old plantation homes with the sweeping staircases, so I can slide glide down the banister and suck down mint juleps on the veranda.

In the shopping district, we saw all sorts of colorful buildings that just begged to be explored.

We drove down to the park and stumbled across this beautiful bridge that overlooked the most serene body of water.

Being there left the hubs in a contemplative mood…
