Fab Forties: Decades

Purple Cardigan Library Books Dress with Black Tights and Navy Mary Janes {living outside the stacks}

About the Fab Forties

The Fab Forties is a group of five style bloggers from around the globe who come together once a month to share their common love of fashion. Each month we choose a different theme and invite a guest blogger, who is also in her forties, to join us. The group’s goal is to take on a style trend and show how we each interpret and incorporate it into our lives. Six different ladies, six different styles, you’re sure to find something that inspires you.

The Theme

Decades, selected by me. Our guest co-host is Emma from Style Splash.

My Outfit

I’ve always said that I’m a child of the seventies with an affinity for the twenties {you can see me as a flapper here}. So I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try out a new look: a 1950’s fit and flare dress with a library books print dress. And, y’all, I love this look. I felt so feminine and pretty. And the dress has POCKETS!!!! I had to resist the urge to twirl all day {although, I won’t lie, I did put my hands in my pockets and shimmy a little bit throughout the day}.
