Hi, I’d like to welcome you to the Style Imitating Art Roundup. Please feel free to visit the other participants by clicking on the link next to their names. I know they’d love it if you stopped by and left a few words. You can see my original post here.
ABOUT STYLE IMITATING ART
Style Imitating Art challenges us to draw style inspiration from pieces of art. My main tip for participating is not to just look at the colors but look at the textures, think about complimentary colors, etc. In other words, you don’t have to be literal your interpretation. It’s all about looking at the items in your closet in new and creative ways — mixing colors and patterns and just having fun.
INSPIRATION ART WORK
Bollinger Mill Covered Bridge by Daenel Vaughn-Tucker
THE CURATOR
This week’s inspiration piece was curated by me.
I took this photo when we lived in Missouri. I used to go to the Bollinger Mill to take pictures, be alone, or just think. It was such a romantic place. I loved seeing the names and dates carved on the interior wall of the bridge. I always wondered about the people…
I see so many possibilities in this image: teals, blues, browns, blacks, and even yellows and reds. And then there are the textures.
THE ROUNDUP
Bev {confuzzledom}
Bev’s outfit picks up all the colors of the photo perfectly. I even like that the flooring and window casing’s mimic the textures.
Kim {fierce fashion blog}
Kim absolutely nailed it with her outfit. I love the pairing of chartreuse with the teals – a color combination I never would’ve considered but, again, that I love.
Salazar {14 shades of gray}
I love Salazar’s blazer and scarf combination – so texture rich.
