Week 5: Rule of Thirds
Welcome to week five of my Project 52: 2019 Edition. If you’d like to see the prompts that I’m using, read this post.
Anyway, as promised, I’m showing the Straight Out of Camera {SOOC} image too, so you can see what I started with and how it ended.
SOOC
Nikon D7500 | 35mm |f /1.8 | 1/160 | ISO 400
This was taken outside in my backyard, late evening, overcast skies. The Hubs was working on the RV and Squeekerz was begging to go back inside. He’s a diva and won’t sit on the grass or the concrete. Camping with him is a lot of fun. That being said, I can’t wait for us to get back on the road…
EDITED
Straightened, cropped, and color muted in Lightroom
Rotated and watermarked in PicMonkey
Sometimes I look an image and I think, gosh, this would look better flipped. So it was with these leaves pushing through the fence between our yard and our neighbor’s yard. I placed the camera right up against the fence and angled it downward, so that the lens was above the leaves and I snapped. Fortunately, the Nikon D7500 has a rotating screen, so I wasn’t shooting blind like I used to do.
I also tend to shoot wide open because I’m a sucker for that creamy bokeh.
If you’re on Instagram, give me a yell and let me know you’re there.
Happy Snapping,
