First of all, let me take this opportunity to thank you for sharing your life with me and allowing me to share my life with you. I cannot stress how much I appreciate your love, support, and encouragement. You guys mean a lot to me and I’m happy we get to spend a bit of time together each day.
Every year I make grand plans for this blog and every year I fail. Miserably. So I’ve decided to do something different this year. Rather than writing about all the big changes I’d like to make to the blog, I’m going to share the things I’ll continue doing.
I’ve broken everything down by category because that’s how I have things sorted on the blog {you can search specific categories by scrolling down to the bottom of the page}.
In the Church
I recently found this app called First 5 {through Proverbs 31}. The idea is to give the first five minutes of your day to the Lord. My plan is to start with Genesis and work my way through the Bible.
I’ve read the Bible through before and I enjoyed the discipline required to do so. I also liked being able to to sit and focus on God’s word without the interpretations of others infiltrating my thoughts. However, I also like the idea of a focused plan with lessons and food for thought to kind of guide my day. I’ve found that even when I’m not actively thinking about the Word, bits and pieces of it will come to me throughout the day. It brings about a feeling of peace.
In the Closet
Y’all know I love clothes and enjoy the process of creating outfits, so I’ll continue cohosting the following linkups:
Style Imitating Art {Please check out our call for a new co-host here}
My plan is to focus on more work related wear than I have in the past and to try my hand at creating a cohesive travel wardrobe as my job requires more travel than my previous positions. So, we’ll see how that goes…
In the Dark Room
This year I WILL COMPLETE a Project 52. I’ll be using the prompts from Everyday Eyecandy. You can get all the details here.
I haven’t picked up my camera nearly as much as I used to do. I just haven’t been all that inspired. I miss shooting and need a reason to do so. In the past, I’ve received positive feedback when I’ve shared my before and after images, so I’ll definitely share my OOC images as well as the final product. I’m not sure if I’ll go back to sharing on flickr, but I will continue to share my images on Instagram. The one thing I do plan to do differently this year is be more intentional in my image making.
In the Library
Joining Professional Book Nerds. You can read about the challenge here.
Even though I failed miserably at least year’s reading challenge, I think I should be able to handle this one as it’s only 12 books. Easy peasy, right? You can see my reading list here. Naturally, there’ll be some bookstagramming going on.
What are your plans for 2019? Do you have anything you’d like to accomplish? Please share in the comments so we can support and encourage each other.
Here’s to a peaceful New Year,
