ABOUT STYLE IMITATING ART

Style Imitating Art is hosted by Salazar {14 Shades of Grey}, Kim {Fierce Fashion Blog}, and me. Style Imitating Art challenges us to draw style inspiration from pieces of art. Every other Monday one of us selects an inspiration image and we each post the image on our blogs. The following Monday we share our art inspired outfits. And that Wednesday, the curator shares all of the submissions on her blog.

THE CURATOR

This week’s image was chosen by me.

INSPIRATION ART WORK

Mada Primavesi by Gustav Klimt

I chose this image because I like the attitude. The girl’s face and stance are defiant but the dress and background are, I don’t know, sweet and innocent. I think this is kind of a mood: I may look sweet but don’t try me.

SUBMISSIONS

Charlotte {Jodie’s Touch of Style}

Jodie sent this picture of her mom, Ms. Charlotte, because she thought the flowers reminded her of the dress in the inspiration piece. I think the flowers and the colors are a perfect match. And, oh Ms. Charlotte, that bag is calling my name. How is it that I don’t own a floral purse? Also purple is my favorite color so this is outfit is a win.

Leslie {Once Upon A Time and Happily Ever After}

Leslie had initially planned to find another outfit after wearing this to do a bit of grandbaby watching but, after a second look, she realized this outfit is perfect. I agree. I looooove that kimono. Every time I see Leslie in one, I think I need to pair mine with shorts. It’s just a fun and kind of sexy look, don’t you think?

Michelle {My Bijou Life Online}

Michelle’s dress is so fun. Tie dye with a floral print! Her dress made me go back and take a second look at the image because I totally missed the yellows — I love when other’s pick up colors and textures that I miss.

Terri {Meadow Tree Style}

I’m so happy that Terri joined us. She wrote that she thought her outfit reflected the light and airy quality of the image and it does. And look at those oh so fab shoes!! Everything about this outfit is angelic with attitude.

THE CO-HOSTS

Make sure you stop by and visit my co-hosts at 14 Shades of Grey, and Fierce Fashion Blog. You’ll definitely want to see their interpretations as well. Make sure you come back on Wednesday to see my co-hosts’ outfits.

Salazar {14 Shades of Grey}

Salazar’s dress is so sweet with that little hanky pocket. I absolutely adore it and think it looks incredibly comfortable. I’m also digging the brogues, that color is the perfect neutral.

Kim {Fierce Fashion Blog}

And since I was just talking about shoes, look at Kim’s… How very fun. Love them. That top is pretty too. Y’all know I love myself anything boho or peasant style.
