Throwback Thursday: First Snow

hrowback Thursday First Snow {living outside the stacks}

With the cold snap that’s gripping the nation, I thought it’d be fun to share a picture from my first snow.

We were living in El Paso, Texas at the time, so I think my twin sister and I were about four or five and my younger sister was about one or two. Notice how we didn’t have gloves or “winter” coats. But I think the star of the show is my mom’s afro.

On a related note {and, gah, I wish I had pictures}… The first time my kids saw snow was when they were between 2 and 5 years old. We were living in Pennsylvania at the time, and I remember them being so very quiet. Silence is scary when you’re a mom of five. So, I went to see what they were doing. They were staring out the window in wonder, their little faces pressed up against the glass, when suddenly my son turned to me and said “Look, Mommy, milk!”

Do you remember your first snow? Share your story in the comments.

Thank you for strolling down memory lane with me,

    Awwww, how sweet! I wish I had pictures of myself in snow. I was born in NJ and we moved to FL when I was 6. I haven’t seen snow in almost 44 years! It is freezing here today, at least by our standards. This really makes me want to book a Winter vacation and take my kids to see snow!!!

    • Kellyann, we seem to bring snow and weather with us everywhere we go. Our first year in Missouri, they had one of the coldest and iciest winters. Our third year here in Georgia and pretty much the same thing. I can visit Florida if you like, LOL
