I GOT AN APPLAUSE FROM BEN ALLDIS FOR MY INSTAGRAM STORY!!! I’m not gonna say that I fan girled, but I totally sent pics of this to my kids because hellllooooo!

My Workouts

I’ve had my bike for two weeks now and, for the most part, I’ve been sticking to 20 to 30 minute rides with a few arm workouts thrown in here and there. The arm workouts are about 10 minutes long, but they’re continuous, so you really feel the burn. Especially a couple of days after. I’m also using 3 lb weights, which may not sound like a lot buuuut when you start with both weights in one hand, switch to one weight in each hand, and end with two weights in the other hand…. *whew*

This week I’m following an actual plan: Mastering the Basics Cycling. This is a 6 week class that alternates workout days with rest days {not gonna lie, I forgot to do the first rest day because riding is such a stress reliever and I really look forward to hopping on my bike at the end of the day}. The goal of the plan is to provide an overview of the different classes, find out the coaching styles of the various instructors, and learn good biking form.

Naturally, I’m looking forward to finish this program because BADGES. Yes, I’m one of those folks who thrives on positive reinforcement in the form of badges when it comes to fitness. You should see how thrilled I get when I close the rings on my Fitbit or Apple Watch. And, speaking of which, since getting the Peloton, I’ve managed to close all my rings on both devices every night except for one {stupid Fitbit only gave me 29 minutes of exercise credit instead of 30}.

My Stats

I do have on non-scale victory to share: I was able to wear a belt I haven’t worn since I bought the pants that came with it. I was wearing a pair of jeans and needed a belt {another nsv} and decided, on a whim, to try the belt and it fit. Granted, it was in the very first opening but I’m not complaining.

Overall, I’d say this has been a good week for me. I think I probably would’ve lost more weight had I eliminated the sodas and the couple of fast food visits, but baby steps.

If you have a Peloton, I’d love to workout with you. I’m #DaenelT and my hashtag is #TeamLOTS. Give me a follow and I’ll follow you back. I’m also on Fitbit.
