Week 2: Peloton
I GOT AN APPLAUSE FROM BEN ALLDIS FOR MY INSTAGRAM STORY!!! I’m not gonna say that I fan girled, but I totally sent pics of this to my kids because hellllooooo! My Workouts I’ve had my bike for two weeks now and, for the most part, I’ve been sticking to 20 to 30 minute rides with a few arm workouts thrown in here and there. The arm workouts are about 10 minutes long, but they’re continuous, so you really feel the burn. Especially a couple of days after. I’m also using 3 lb weights, which may not sound like a lot buuuut when you start with both weights in one…

Week 1: Peloton
I’ve had my Peloton Bike+ for a week now and I honestly believe I’ve found something I can stick with. In fact, I look forward to the end of the work day, so I can come home, feed and walk the dogs, then get on my bike. It’s intense. It’s therapeutic. It’s relaxing. All the things that I enjoyed about running without worrying about varying temperatures or inclement weather. I wasn’t home when the Peloton arrived, but The Hubs said that everything went smoothly. The delivery team put the bike together outside and then moved it upstairs, exactly where I told The Hubs I wanted it placed. I ended…

Getting Fit: My Peloton Arrives Tomorrow
My Peloton is scheduled to arrive tomorrow and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve been counting down since I placed my order. And the folks at Peloton have made it so easy. Every couple of days, they send an email with an update about my bike along with other important information like: what workouts to try prior to the arrival of the bike deciding how and where to place the bike what to expect when the bike is delivered It’s truly an experience and I haven’t even received my bike yet. I’ve already joined a couple of Facebook groups, followed a few folks on Instagram, and scoped out the workouts…

Getting Fit: Waiting for My Peloton to Arrive
After stalking the website for a year, reading reviews, watching videos, and trying to justify the price, I finally made the decision to buy a Peloton. I ordered the Bike+ Essentials, which comes with bike shoes, 3 lb bike weights, and reversible workout mat. I chose this option because I didn’t want to stress over making the right bike shoe purchase. From what I’ve read, you can use your own bike shoes, you just need to make sure that they clip in for safety reasons. I added the weights because I know I’ll want to add strength training to my cardio after I get comfortable with the rides. Additional Accessories…

Losing Weight and Getting Healthy #15 {#Cinchspiration}
Here’s my last Cinchspiration update. I have to be honest and say that I haven’t been following the program as I should have over the last few weeks. In fact, I was completely off the program. But last week while I was at work, I was starving and while digging through my purse I found a Cinch bar, and was thrilled. Not sure if it was because I was starving or not, but that bar was the best thing I’d eaten in forever. Forever. So that was the start of me getting back on the wagon. And in that week I’ve gone back down to 155.4 which essentially means that…

Losing Weight and Getting Healthy #14 {#Cinchspiration}
There’s nothing new to report. My weight is holding steady at 155.6 lbs and has been for the last week and a half. I’m OK with that. As long as the number isn’t going up, I can deal. I’m still working on eating more vegetables. I don’t know why that’s such a difficult thing for me but it is. So my goal for this week is to work harder on increasing my fruit and veggie intake. I will also continue my daily walks with my co~workers and work harder at hitting 10,000 steps. To watch my weight loss story unfold, stay tuned as I blog, Facebook, vlog, tweet and pin my inches lost. You can follow the Team…

MapMyFITNESS Quaker Challenge Update
Do you remember my wake up call photo? If not, go here and take a peek. What a difference two weeks can make! Here’s this week’s photo: I’m down 2 lbs and 2 inches around the waist. I’ve also worked out twice a day for 8 out of the 14 days. The last few days I’ve had some sort of weird bug that will not go away. But I’m feeling better so I’m ready to get back into the swing of things. How are you doing with your health goals?

Biggest Loser Pound for Pound Challenge
Trying. To. Pull. Up. My. Jeans. And it just ain’t happening... I’m finally too big to fit in my “fat jeans”. Yesterday, I had to pull out 5 pairs of jeans before I found a pair that fit comfortably enough that I could sit through an 8 hour shift at the library. I’ve written about my struggles with my weight before on this blog, so it’s no secret that I’m about twenty pounds overweight. Seriously, I weigh more now than I did when I was pregnant with my twins. I really need to do something and stick to it. I’ve tried other weight loss tricks strategies programs before but I…

I’ve Registered for the Spark into Spring Virtual 5K
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know that every blue moon I get a wild hair and decide that I want to do something like run a 5K. Last year, I registered for the Children’s Advocacy Center’s 6th Annual Moonlight Run in Scranton but I ended up not being able to run it because of that whole temporary blindness thing. I ended up walking it in 47 minutes. Even though I was able to participate in last year’s race as a walker, my goal is still to run a 5K. I won’t be able to participate in this year’s CAC 5K because of a scheduling conflict…
