How crazy is that? Today is 11/11/11. This day only happens once every 1oo years. Did you mark it in any special way? We did!
Welcome to the World, Jromel

My grandson, Jromel, came into the world bright and early this morning. He weighed in at 6 lbs 13 oz and was 19½ inches long. We are all beyond excited and I cannot wait to get my hands on him and smother him in kisses.

Happy Veterans' Day

I have always loved my country and am proud that I had the opportunity to serve in the U.S. Army alongside some of the finest people America has to offer. It is with much love and respect that I honor them, my husband, my father and stepfather, sister, brothers~in~law and all others who’ve served.

To those who are currently serving, I just want to say thank you, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.

National Blog Posting MonthFor those of you who are looking for ways to honor vets on more than just one day out of the year, consider supporting one of the following organizations:

Wounded Warrior Project ~ their goal is to help soldiers who’ve been injured by providing them with medical care, financial assistance and emotional support

Gary Sinise Foundation ~ created by Gary Sinise to honor veterans, first responders, their families and those in need
