THE AGELESS STYLE LINKUP

Hi! How was your Labor Day Weekend? Mine was absolutely wonderful! Four of my five kids came to visit us in Georgia and was ~ I don’t know, my momma heart was overflowing. It’s hard when your children grow up and get lives of their owns. On the one hand, I’m incredibly proud of them but, on the other, I. Miss. My. Babies.

Anyway, with the beginning of a new month, comes the first Tuesday of the month, and a new Ageless Style Linkup! For the linkup, ten ladies, all over the age of 40, get together and share their interpretations of a specific style theme. Our goal is to show you that “style doesn’t have an age limit.”

This month’s theme, suggested by Jodie from Jodie’s Touch of Style, is to show how we transition a summer skirt for Autumn. I’ll be honest, Autumn is my favorite season: cooler temps, cozy sweaters, chunky boots…

Ageless Style Linkup Transition Summer Skirt to Autumn Wear {living outside the stacks}

I asked my second oldest kid if she’d like to join me for a few pictures. Of course, she was more than ready…

I’ve styled this skirt for a similar challenge here. Funny, how this seems to be my go~to transitional piece, but it is. I think it works because of the black background and the coffee toned florals. I’ve worn this skirt bare~legged and with tights, with flats and with boots. It just works. This time, I decided to pair my skirt up with a maxi cardigan. I’ve had this cardigan in my closet for a long time and have never worn it. I’m still not sure if I’m feeling it, but, hey, this is all about trying new looks and stepping out of our comfort zones, right?

This is an outtake, but it was just so, I don’t know, us, that I had to share it…

Now that I look at it, I’m going to be honest and say that the striped tee isn’t working for me either. So, I’ll be adding that to the donation pile. See, that’s another thing that comes from doing these types of posts, we’re able to look at ourselves and see what does and does not work for our body type and then make decisions from there.
