Camel Cardi Animal Print Blouse Faux Leather Pants and Nude Pumps {living outside the stacks}

Hey, y’all! I hope you’ve had a great weekend so far. I have. The Hubs and I went out for drive through the  area. I remember when we came here on a house hunting trip and I thought I’d never learn my way around because everything is so spread out. Ha! Everything is pretty much concentrated in what feels like a big ol’ circle. Places I thought were far away are actually no more than 10 or 15 minutes away. Funny how time and knowledge has a way of changing our perspective, right?

Speaking of perspective, if you join me for coffee on Instagram, then you’ve seen the picture above before. I’ve been wanting a pair of faux leather pants forever, but I didn’t think I could pull them off. I mean, they just have this bad girl/rocker chick image and that’s so not me. Then I saw this photo on Pinterest and I was like “Oh my word, I can totally do that! And in the library too!”

The reason I thought it’d work in the library is because the color scheme of the overall outfit and the cut of the faux leather and ponte knit pants. While the animal print blouse and the faux leather pants may seem like a lot, the muted tones keeps the look from screaming “Sexy!” Although, I ain’t gonna lie, I totally felt sexy in these pants and I’ll definitely be upping the vavoom factor in a later post.

These pants are a faux leather and ponte knit combination which keeps them from being too clingy. This is the look I wanted, because I want my clothes to pull double duty {you know, on the clock and off}. And the ankle length allows me to wear a variety of shoe styles. Because I knew I’d be doing a bit of walking, I opted for a low heel in a neutral color.

I loved these pants so much that I actually went and ordered a similar pair by Brooke Shields for QVC in a brick red. I cannot wait to style those.

Do you own faux leather pants? Would you wear them to work?

Now go play in your closet,
