“She loved a boy very, very much — even more than she loved herself.” – Shel Silverstein

MOMMY AND SON

Toddlers are fun. And they do what they want. I learned that very quickly with this shoot. I’ve never done a styled shoot with a little before, so I went in thinking I could direct and pose. Nope. After I relaxed and decided to follow his lead, we were able to capture some really beautiful images that captured the connection between him and his mom.

He told us he was going to Target after we finished to get a drink. This kid knows how to de-stress.

As I was leaving, I told Abigail how much I loved the exterior of her house. It’s a bohemian dream, with all sorts of eclectic pieces hanging on the walls. She smiled and said “Thank you, my grandpa built this house.” What? It was all I could do to keep from running my hands down the weathered wood siding… “Would you like for me to take a picture of you guys on the porch?” And that is how this picture came to be. A mom, embracing her son, on the porch of a home built with love.

Happy Snapping,
