    Week in Review: Week 16

    Good morning! One of the major things that I’ve learned from blogging and photography is that we need to document our lives. It may seem a little narcissistic and a tad bit crazy but think about all those moments you wish you’d captured… Not the big planned moments but the little ones that seemed insignificant at the time, those are the ones that make up our lives… So my challenge to you, my friends is to get your cameras (cell phones count) and take pictures for one day out of your life. You don’t have to share them, just keep them. And make sure that you’re in at least one…

    Week in Review: Week 15

    Just about every morning I post a picture of myself with a cup of coffee. I do this as a way of connecting with my friends and just starting my day off right. As much as I’d love to sit with each of you, share a cup of coffee, and enjoy a laugh, I know that’s not possible… So this is my way of making it happen. If you’re on Instagram or Facebook, please feel free to share a picture of yourself with your favorite beverage. Last Spring, these little guys were all over the library as part of a game being played by students. I thought it was creative…

    Weekend in Review: Week 14

    Hi! How was your weekend? Mine was long and emotionally exhausting. My twins are seniors this year, so I’ve been trying to adjust to the idea of them not being home anymore. So very difficult. The Hubs, The Boy, and I spent a couple of days at Missouri S&T, where The Boy will be an engineering major in the Fall. I’m so not ready. I know I should be celebrating the fact that our jobs as parents have resulted in two young adults who’re ready to take on the world, but all I keep seeing are my babies. Leaving home. OK. Enough. My favorite coffee picture from last week. The…

    2014 Daily Selfie: Week 11 {In the Dark Room}

    Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mine was nice. Spent some time with the family, which is always a blessing. I love it when we can all get together for meals, especially now that those times are few and far between. We’re missing Mrs. 27 and her family but someday… I complained about the snow. Yes, more snow and ice. After a day of near 70ยบ temperatures. And, of course, I enjoyed copious amounts of coffee. Here are some pictures from last week: The hubs had flowers delivered to my office last week for our anniversary; this rose was such an unusual color that it instantly became my favorite. I’ve…

    2014 Daily Selfie: Week 10 {In the Dark Room}

    Hi, you guys! How was your weekend? Mine was all kinds of fab. It was a celebration weekend: my birthday is today {41 years old} and my anniversary is tomorrow {19 years}. My family went out of their way to make me feel special this weekend… I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it. Here are a few pictures from last week: Squeekerz can find a ray of sunlight in the darkest night. The requisite coffee shot. It’s what fuels me, ya know? My new zoom lens. A gift from the hubs. I’m so in love right now. With him. And the lens. My birthday cake. I absolutely positively…

    2014 Daily Selfie: Week 9 {In the Dark Room}

    Oh my word, y’all, I know everyone has been complaining about the weather but, seriously, can we at least go for consistency? One day it’s pushing 70ยบ and the next we’re at ~5ยบ with ice. I need it be warm or cold, not both. Other than that, the week has been relatively uneventful. But I’m grateful for each and every day. Here’s my week in review, courtesy of Instagram: This was my entry into the Instagram Photo Challenge hosted by Mashable earlier this week. The prompt was #MyFuel. We all know coffee fuels me. It was picture day at the library. Pictures should never be taken during winter or summer,…

    2014 Daily Selfie: Week 8 {In the Dark Room}

    Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mine was absolutely wonderful: the sun was out, I disconnected from work, and I got to hang out with my family. Seriously, what more could I ask for? Not much, I tell ya. Well, I’ve decided to revamp my 2014 Daily Selfie posts. I knew this would happen… But I’m tired of me. I know the point of the challenge is to document ourselves and our lives, to provide a visual memory of our feelings {be they good or bad}, but I just couldn’t keep it up. So, I’m going to share my favorite Instagram pictures from the previous week and tell the story…

    2014 Daily Selfie: Week 7 {In the Dark Room}

    Happy Monday, everyone! Are you off today for President’s Day? I’m not. In fact, I’ll be sitting in my office trying not to fall asleep. I woke up way too early, 3 something, and couldn’t fall back to sleep. I hate when that happens. Does that ever happen to you? How do you settle back down? Here’s my week in pictures: I noticed a theme with this week’s selfies, they all involved coffee. I think I really need to diversify. What was the highlight of your week? I’m linking up with: 2014 Daily Selfie ~ Instagram: I’m doing this with a few of my Instagram friends. “Selfie” is open to…

    November Photo A Day Challenge: Days 10~15 {In the Dark Room}

    Day 10: Book When I moved out on my own, I took three things from my parents’ home: a few books, a chess set, and a doll. Day 11: Memory 1994. I was promoted to Corporal by Capt. DeMassey and the hubs. Side note, I’m pretty certain I was violating all kinds of reg with the glasses and lipstick. Day 12: Clouds The weather has been all over the place. One minute it’s cold, the next it’s hot. I need stability. Day 13: Part of Me My eyes are my favorite features, even though I’m blind as a bat without my glasses. Day 14: Eating One of my favorite salads…

    November Photo A Day Challenge: Days 4~9 {In the Dark Room}

    Happy Monday, y’all! I hope you guys had a good weekend. My weekend started on Friday and lasted through Sunday. Yay for long weekends! We didn’t do anything, just hung out around the house. But, sometimes, you just need to take a break and do nothing, amiright? But there are times when you really need to get away from it all… I think next time the hubs and I have some time off we’re going to try to go exploring. This week’s pictures are a mix of camera phone and DSLR shots. I find that if I mix it up I’m more likely to post a picture for that day’s…
