Changing My Perspective: Dandelions {Photography}
When I first picked up my camera, my goal was to simply capture a moment. I didn’t know anything about focus, composition or lighting. I didn’t pay attention to angles and perspective. I simply picked up the camera, aimed and snapped. And while those photographs have made for some wonderful memory makers, that certain oomph is missing. It’s the oomph that takes pictures from being meh to wow. When taking pictures of flowers, for example, I used to only take them with me standing over them and looking down. A Photography Tip {This or That Thursday}
Today’s photo tip {as if I’m a professional or something} is to watch your background. I was playing with using natural light and absolutely love the halo that was produced from the bright sun pouring through the windows. But… Do you see the vase of flowers that has sprung from the top of my head? Yeah, totally should have moved that out of the way before taking the picture. In the second picture, I switched locations because I wanted to try to get that aura again and see what would happen if I just shifted slightly. I kinda like the side light too. Photography {My Favorite Blogs}
My camera goes just about everywhere I go. I think that’s probably the most important thing that I’ve learned in the past few months that I’ve been reading photography blogs. I’ve also learned that I should practice taking my camera out of Auto and try shooting in Manual (not easy when you have no idea what all those little numbers and letters mean) but, fortunately, there are some incredible tutorials out there. I can’t afford to take photography classes right now, so I have to rely on tips and tricks from the interwebs.
