Week 18 Experimental Edit {Living Outside the Stacks}

Week 18: In the Library

Edited

Edited in PicMonkey and Lightroom

2018 saw the introduction of a new 52 week photography project, which has me totally excited. This year I want to really step out creatively and learn/practice new skills. I’d also really like to do more than just make photos of my morning coffee, although I do enjoy that. So this year I’ve started sharing my favorite photo of the week with either a story or a quote to go along with it.

Recently, I was asked if I could show the original image along with the edited image, so, yeah, absolutely…

Here it is, straight out of camera {SOOC}:

Week 18 Unedited {Living Outside the Stacks}

Unedited

Nikon D7500 | 18mm | f/13 | 1/250 | ISO 800

This is image is out of my comfort zone. Why? Because I’m strictly a natural light photographer. For this photo I used the overhead lighting and was really concerned about how the image would turn out. And, quite honestly, I think I like the unedited image better than the edited image.

Week 18 Bright Edit {Living Outside the Stacks}

My favorite time in the library is when I first arrive and it’s still empty and quiet. I have an opening routine that I follow every morning that I open. This particular morning, I arrived way too early {unlike me}, so I decided to snap a quick picture.

Happy Snapping,
