PHOTO INFO
Nikon D850 35mm
1/50 | f1.8 | ISO 500
I edited this image in Lightroom using a preset from Wilde Presets called Matte Film 1. This is a new preset for me, so I’m still trying to get the hang of it. I like the dark moody feel to the image, but I need to bump up the exposure a bit to get a cleaner image, I think. But I was shooting at a relatively high ISO, so… I also extended the wall in Photoshop so that I could get more of 1/3 feel to the image. I also tried to photoshop the light bulb out of the ceiling; not a great job, but for a first try, I’m gonna call it a win.

THE STORY
This was an unexpected capture of our pups, Bleu and Lola. Bleu {with the ears} does not like Lola at all. Lola loves Bleu dearly. Typical siblings.
Side note: this was a hard challenge. I tend to either edit with a 1/3 or negative space composition.
ABOUT THE 52 WEEK PROJECT
The prompts for the 52 Week Project: 2022 Edition are provided by Tandra Hull in conjunction with her course: Project 52 for the Storyteller with Tandra Hull. This is a year long course that focuses on the elements of storytelling through photography. The goals of the project are to:
- learn our cameras;
- become better storytellers;
- look at our daily lives creatively;
- capture memories; and
- improve our editing skills.
