52 Week Project 2025: Weeks 5-8
I didn’t really have a theme in mind when I started this project, I’d just planned to take photos when I got a chance and share my weekly fave. However, this month started with me processing an image of Bleu in black and white and thinking, hey, why not continue the black and white processing through the rest of the month? Black and white images have always been some of my favorites because they allow you to project your emotion onto the image depending upon your mood, the clarity of the image, the shadows and lights. Week 5 I took this snap of Bleu while she was sitting in one…

52 Week Project 2025: Weeks 1-4
I wasn’t sure if I was going to attempt a 52 week project this year. I’ve started and failed to complete one each year because I’ve been too ambitious {yes, that is possible}. Where I messed us was trying to shoot daily. I simply can’t do that. So I’ve decided to shoot once a week. That’s much more doable. There’s no pressure, ya know? If I don’t shoot one day, I have six more days to get it in. I can handle this. I’m not using any prompts, I’m just taking pictures of what I see and going from there. Again, no pressure. Here are the images from the first…

Weekend Getaway: Georgia
Y’all, I just spent the weekend with my daughter and her girlfriend in Georgia. When I tell you having adult children is a whole different level of momming, I’m not kidding. I love my kids, I love them dearly, but the one thing I’m most proud of is how much I genuinely like them. And, gosh, it makes my momma heart happy that they want to hang out with me. Savannah, Georgia While my daughter drove and Katie kept her company, I napped in the back. Not gonna lie, being able to relax on the road was super nice. I had to get a snap of this poster of The…

1.52 | Self Portrait
Hey! How’s 2022 treating you so far? This first week has been off to a rocky start for me. My family has had to deal with a couple of non-COVID related medical issues. And, I’m not gonna lie, it has been overwhelming. However, things are smoothing out so maybe 2022 will get better? Do you make resolutions? I don’t. I used to do so but then I’d get frustrated when I failed to meet my goals. That’s why I no longer write blog goals. Life is stressful enough without adding to the internal drama. This year is all about eliminating any and everything that doesn’t bring me joy. PHOTO INFO…

My Photography Project: Christmas Mini
The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree: the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other. – Burton Hills CHRISTMAS CARD READY I wasn’t sure what to expect when I was asked to meet this sweet family at Grant Christmas Tree Farm for our Christmas Mini. The skies were overcast and the weather a bit chilly, in fact, the girls were shivering but you can barely tell from the images. They were such pros. The oldest one even offered posing suggestions, which I happily accepted. A FEW MORE FAVES Have a Very Merry Christmas! Happy Snapping, Follow Living…

My Photography Studio: The Beginning
When we were moving to Louisiana, The Hubs and I were certain of two things: we wanted our main living space to be on one floor and we wanted a space to park our RV. What I had not thought about was a studio space, but The Hubs and I were talking about the unused bedrooms that we have upstairs and he suggested I turn one into a studio space. I don’t know why we didn’t think about this sooner. It’s genius. As you can tell, the room is in pretty rough shape right now. The carpets need to be replaced and the walls need to be painted. I’d also…
