THE AGELESS STYLE LINKUP

Hi, welcome to the Ageless Style Linkup. The linkup runs the first Tuesday of each month and features 10 women over the age of 40 styling an outfit based on one theme, and, because we’re all so different, each theme interpretation is different. Each month, one of the co-hosts invites a guest co-host to join us for the linkup. Our goal is to show you that style is ageless…

This month’s theme is: “Fall Colors” and was chosen by Debbie at Fashion Fairy Dust.

Can you believe it’s fall already? Not that it means much here in Louisiana, it’s HOT, y’all. So that means no cute and cozy sweaters just yet. So how do I get that fall feel in my clothes? Through my color choices. While I tend to favor neutrals with pops of color, once the months start to end in “ber”, I start leaning towards rich, dark, saturated colors. Vampy colors.

MY LOOK

I think I’ve mentioned before how much I adore Nickel and Suede earrings? I have other styles, but I keep coming back to these. They’re so light weight and funky. Even though they’re leather and in a tear drop shape, I find that they go with everything. I have them in pastel shades as well as saturated tones. And I have both leather and suede pairs, my preference is the leather, as it doesn’t bend like the suede pairs do. Have you tried them? Do you have a favorite color or style?

I almost never wear sleeveless tops, but this this is a favorite of mine, so I make an exception. I like the way it drapes in the front, it kinda looks like I’ve done a half-tuck without all of the effort of actually doing a half-tuck. And I like that the fabric is light weight and offers coverage in the back {so I could wear this top with leggings if I wanted and I’d be comfortable}. I also like the color – it’s kind of a coral-y red.

I hate slacks. I find them uncomfortable. So when I have to step it up, 9 out of 10 times, I’m going to reach for a pair of Old Navy Pixie Pants. I love love love the stretch and the fun color/pattern options. I also like that they’re ankle length, because it allows me to show off my shoes. In my book, leopard is a neutral so, yeah…
