Daenel with Camera {living outside the stacks}

I announced at the beginning of the month that I was taking a bit of a break from Instagram. I wasn’t sure how long I was going to be gone, but I knew I needed a time out. During my {un}planned break, I had every intention of picking up my camera and keeping up with The Bethadilly Prompts, but I didn’t. My cameras sat on the shelf and collected dust. I barely even used my cell phone camera.

For the past few months, I’d been feeling a bit of photography fatigue. I was working on a 366 Project and the pressure just got to be too much. Not pressure from anyone else, just pressure from myself. Pressure to create something beautiful. Pressure to make something meaningful. Pressure to share something daily. So I had to hit the pause button and think about why I’d started this process and what I’d hoped to gain.

Today I picked up my camera for the first time in almost a month and it felt, I don’t know, weird. I couldn’t remember how to adjust the settings and my first few pictures came out not~so~great. In fact, I’m not at all happy with the ones I’ve chosen to share but it is what it is.

I won’t be completing the 366 Project, but I will be shooting again.

Anyway, I’m back on Instagram and I can’t wait to pick up my camera and start shooting {im}perfectly,
