Sometimes I get so caught up in the big picture that I miss the little things. For example, I took this picture using Instagram because I thought the light coming off the setting sun was just beautiful. Last week, the hubs, Miss 15 and I were driving into town when the hubs pulled over and said “You have got to get a picture of that sky!” It was the most spectacular looking thing we’d seen in just about forever. He Gave Me Life {Faith}
Sometimes I think what my mirror sees and what my camera sees are two different people. My reflection is always young and smiling, full of energy and ready to take on the day. My photographic image is about 30 lbs overweight with the slightest hint of crows feet forming in the corners of my eyes. When I was a little girl, I hated my name. I mean, I absolutely positively hated my name. People used to call me “Danielle”, “Darlene”, “Daniel”, etc. All perfectly fine names, but not my name. It wasn’t until I was an adult that I fully appreciated the uniqueness of my name and it wasn’t until I had children of my own that I understood the power of names. This week, I started a new study with the Women’s Bible Café called “Knowing God by Name: A Personal Encounter” by Mary Kassian. When I Think of the Goodness of Jesus {Word Filled Wednesday}
When we moved to Missouri, I tried not to think about all the things that I’d be giving up {a career that I loved, people I enjoyed working with on a daily basis, etc.} and focus on the things that I’d be gaining {living closer to my family, a promotion for the hubs, etc.} but it was still scary. I practically hyperventilated every time I thought about all the bills. Bills we still had to pay. On one salary. Yes, the hubs got a promotion but it didn’t come with a two~person salary increase.
