Here’s my last Cinchspiration update. I have to be honest and say that I haven’t been following the program as I should have over the last few weeks. In fact, I was completely off the program. But last week while I was at work, I was starving and while digging through my purse I found a Cinch bar, and was thrilled. 1. It feels like every week there’s a new story about child sex abuse/murder/kidnapping. This week the news centers around the Boy Scouts and their so~called “Pervert Files”. It looks like they had the same policy as the Catholic Church and Penn State when it came to dealing with child predators… Why is it that organizations prefer to protect their reputations rather than protect the children who’ve been entrusted with their care? My honest~to~goodness~no~holds~barred opinion on this subject is that any and everyone who hurts a child should be put to death. No appeal. No languishing on Death Row for years. Just kill them. Losing Weight and Getting Healthy #14 {#Cinchspiration}
There’s nothing new to report. My weight is holding steady at 155.6 lbs and has been for the last week and a half. I’m OK with that. As long as the number isn’t going up, I can deal. I’m still working on eating more vegetables. I don’t know why that’s such a difficult thing for me but it is.  So my goal for this week is to work harder on increasing my fruit and veggie intake. I will also continue my daily walks with my co~workers and work harder at hitting 10,000 steps. I did but that’s not what I want to talk about… What I want to talk about is the people who seem to have a hard time understanding that they cannot use their corporate Twitter accounts to say stupid stuff, it will cost them their jobs. Really, person behind the KitchenAid tweet that read: “Obamas gma even knew it was going 2 b bad! She died 3 days b4 he became president.” Agree with the President or not, show a little respect. Annie Laurie’s Antiques {Getting to Know Missouri}
Recently, I attended a presentation called “The Psychology of Now… In Retail and Fashion” by Lynn R. Moore. During the presentation, Lynn talked about current trends in retail and how people have shifted their thought from “I must have new” to “How can I reuse and/or recycle?” She talked about how people are thrifting more, shopping in vintage/second hand shops, garage sales, etc and upcycling their finds. She ended her talk with a discussion about the importance of buying local. One of the stores she mentioned was Annie Laurie’s Antiques. 1. I love bacon. Goodness knows, I love myself some bacon. My friends and I are constantly discussing the many ways bacon can be used to enhance everything from steak to chocolate but it has never once occurred to any of us to use bacon as currency. But one guy, Josh Sankey,  is traveling across the U.S. on Oscar Meyer’s dime using bacon as currency. Everything he gets from gas to food to lodging is paid for using bacon! Genius! Dude, if you’re ever in Missouri, I’ll trade you one of my hand crocheted scarves for some bacon. Cannot believe I’ve hit the 3 month mark. Cannot believe I’ve hit the 3 month mark and I’m in the same exact place that I was in 3 months ago. cue the violins and sad clowns I am not a happy camper. I’m seriously at a loss as to what to do. I’ve started Shape Up SEMO at work, which is a fitness/wellness program/challenge that encourages us to get up and move for at least 30 minutes a day. I don’t have any weight loss pictures this week. See what had happened was… Um, I simply didn’t take any. I’m not gonna lie, I’m not happy with my progress so far. I thought this far into the Cinch Inch Weight Loss Program that I would have lost a decent amount of weight. Instead, I seem to keep losing the same 3 lbs over and over again. Not fun. In fact, it’s quite frustrating. 1. Did you know you could get fired for mooning your boss? Apparently, Jason Selch didn’t know this until he took his bosses at Bank of America to court for firing him after he mooned them. Ummmm, even grade schoolers know they’ll get in trouble if they whip their butts out in public so why this grown man didn’t realize this is beyond me. I sure hope his 15 seconds of satisfaction was worth the millions he lost in bonuses, salary, etc. 2.
