Coffee Talk {living outside the stacks}

I’d like to welcome you to Coffee Talk. In case you’re new here, this is where I share some of the great and not~so~great stuff that I find on the web. Topics range from news stories that leave me scratchin’ my head to DIYs that I think are absolutely clever. And, who knows, there may even be a recipe thrown in here or there just for fun.

So grab a cup of coffee {or tea or whatever floats your boat} and let’s talk…

You guys, this is the first Coffee Talk of 2016!!!! Can you believe it’s taken so long for us to sit down for a chat? Seriously, where have you been? What’ve you been up to? How’s the New Year treating you so far? I have questions.

Everything’s been going really well on my side. I’m teaching this semester ~ American History ~ and, oh my word, I’d forgotten how much time this takes. I’m enjoying but I’m exhausted. Besides my “real” job as a librarian, I’m also piloting a new program at the library. I’m working with the Online School as a class librarian for two classes. So, yep, I’m totally staying busy.

I’m sitting here watching the news and, ummm, they’ve been talking about this snow storm for days, so why are people just now running out to get snacks and stuff? I think everyone who goes out and gets stuck should have to reimburse emergency services if they have to get rescued. But, then, I feel that way about anyone who doesn’t follow weather warnings.

Clinton. Sanders. Trump. Cruz. What the what?

The whole Oscar’s “controversy”? Here’s my solution: stop giving awards to people who make millions of dollars for pretending to be someone else. They’re not saving lives. They’re not curing cancer. Enough with the whole thing.

Now it’s your turn, what’s on your mind?
